Description

This is the first go at with a simple procesing experiment of my first real long-term project. Data for this was taken over 20 separate sessions over a period of 2.5 months (a couple of hours here and there as a rule) so is rather more involved than the earlier image - I won't game the system by claiming imaging time in my earlier 6h Astrobin image twice though ;-)
It needed alot of Sii to get much detail and put my time there rather than wasting time on largely non-existent Oiii.

Totals in the image:
Ha 600s x 112 (18h 40m)
Sii  600s x 120 (20h)
R 180s x 22 (66m)
G 180s x 23 (69m)
B 180s x 22 (66m)
total of 42h

The processing workflow was fundamentally different on this one. Each gradient-corrected stack was first denoised using AstroDenoisePyGUI before fairly simple combinations of each channel (starless HSS and RGB stars). A bit of blue contrast was added using the starless blue channel. Not a displeasing result with pretty minimal post-processing (pre-processing was a complete pain with all the different calibration masters!)

The Sii data is showing some issues with the anti-blooming circuit in my QHY9 but not a huge amount I can do about that after the fact. I drizzled the data to improve the star shapes a bit as there was a decent amount of statistics to play with.
The AstroDenoisePyGUI program is worth a look as it's been trained with actual astrophotos and does a really nice job without any artefacting that I can see. Star removal was very clean when noise wasn't a problem.

I'm looking forward to seeing how much I can get out of this data with a bit of work!

Title: V2 - being more careful not to clip the fainter detail

Description: makes my anti-bloom issue in the Sii look worse but swings and roundabouts!
The default settings for the denoise in AstroDenoisePyGUI were massively off for my 16-bit data and I'm finding Irfanview sometimes doing some really weird stuff to the dynamic range on saving images.
