Description

As the Planets are rising year after year for us on the northern hemisphere I had the opportunity to make recordings of Jupiter using different focal lengths but only using an ASI120mms camera (with ZWO RGB filters) and GSO x2.5 barlow so you can approximately assess what you can get using your own telescope.

The fun definitely begins from C8 as it catches more details of Jupiter but C6 is a great little telescope to get you into the Planet game and it's quite portable. Dobsonian 12" is also an amazing telescope but it has only 1500mm of focal length and it's huge so if you have a home setup with x4-x5 barlow it surly possible to have great images of Jupiter. I was also lucky enough to catch GRS on 4 images. That's my little overview. There are much more experienced imagers here so feel free to comment or add your own links to different focal lengths.

Of course this would not be possible without my astro friends who borrow their telescopes for this project. This was done in 2021. and seeing for every recording was about 7/10. Before you notice there is no C14, unfortunately I could not get a hold of one but you have Damian Peach and Christopher Go for that.  Hope this helps for the upcoming seasons. Clear Skies.

Thanks to;
@Ken Yasue  for C6
@Boris Štromar  for C8
@Saša Nuić  for C11
@Vedran Vrhovac for Dob 12"
