Description

An emission nebula (a region of ionized hydrogen gas) in the constellation of Cygnus, at a distance of 1,800 light years.

Infrared images taken by the Spitzer Space Telescope have shown that the North America Nebula and the Pelican Nebula are part of the same complex of ionized gas, separated by a dark dust cloud.

Total imaging time: 9 hours

RGB image: 5 hours (100x180") at gain 120

H-alpha image: 4 hours (48x300") at gain 120

Camera: ZWO ASI294MC Pro

Filter: Baader H-alpha 7nm Narrowband-Filter
