      Description

First galaxy image from my remote equipment at SF is finally done. I set out to explore NGC 7331, Stephen's Quintet and its surrounding region. During this journey of galactic exploration, I have come across a few surprises. First is the inclusion of this beautiful galaxy group in the top left corner of the image, with a prominent NGC 7345 and 7342 and a group of galaxies below them.

Another interesting galaxy is UGC 12157. Located about 150 million light years away, it has an interesting shape.

On the bottom right of this next image is NGC 7343. Really amazed by how symmetrical, detailed and colorful this distant galaxy came out to be, clocking in at about 100 million light years from us. On the top left is 2MASX J22383046+3414260 is approximately 330 million light-years away:

Of course the center piece of the entire image is NGC 7331, which came out reasonably detailed despite only using a 6inch Newtonian / 800mm focal length.

      And of course Stephen's quintet:

The biggest surprise came when realizing how much Ha was in this region, and it showed on continuum subtraction.

Highly recommend exploring this image at full resolution.
