Description

I shot this last year with my old SBIG STT-8300.  When the cloudy nights challenge for June was M13, I decided to shoot it again with the new camera and see what I could do.  I thought this target would be a good choice to experiment with the GeneralizedHyperbolicStretch script.  I got buried with other stuff and ended up back burnering the project, and only now have circled back to it.

I found GHS was useful to get a good stretch without blowing out the cores, though I didn't like what it did to some of the surrounding stars, which where pretty bloated.  I ended up stretching more conventionally to get more pleasing stars, and blending in the GHS version using masks so I got the best of both worlds.  I'm sure there's a way to get it all looking good with GHS, but I'm not there yet.
