Description

This is a comparison between an HOO image and a picture taken in the near infrared (with Astrodon sloan Z'2 filter) done at the same night. The infrared filter lets pass radiation above 800 nm. Its picture exhibits more stars as the infrared is less absorbed by dust but also as the bandpass is wider ( these effects are more than compensating lower quantum efficiecy of the sensor).

Interesting, there is a weak signal of the Pelican nebula in the infrared too. Enjoy/
