Description

A few nights ago, I doubled up on images by running two 'scopes (well.. a camera lens and a telescope).  In part this was to make up for the terrible weather here this winter.

Previously I put together a mosaic of the Milky Way in Sagittarius with my "original rig" -  a Canon 200mm lens + Star Adventurer mount.

I had so much fun, I thought I would do it again. So while I have been imaging some galaxies with my RC8,  I thought I would bring this small rig out again - this time to do a sweep of the Milky Way in Scorpius.

I should, of course, have images the Scorpius region first - now setting quite early - but that's just the way it goes.   These images will be helpful next winter, as I look for good DSO  targets in this area.

The L-Enhance really brings out out the Ha regions against the background stars. I can almost convince myself that I can see RCW114 - in the lower right hand corner.   But the thing that really makes it for me are the dark dust lanes.  Plenty of targets for further exploration next year.
