Description

As you perhaps remember I recently posted a colour image (LRGB) of the fabulous NGC 2029, a wonderful region of nebulosity in the LMC. I also captured good Narrowband data, Ha, OII & SII.

With the LRGB image completed, I thought the next version should be HaRGB.

I used a method outlined by Kayron Merceica, which was developed by Vicent Peris of the PixInsight Team. However, i was able to use StarXTerminator to make the process easier.

I made an animation blinking between the LRGB (colour) image and this Ha enhanced image. Blinking between the two images beautifully shows the density of the hydrogen clouds. The red glow is in many instances just visible in the colour image, but the Ha enhancement really brings out the discrete cloud areas and the tendrils of hydrogen gas that pervade the area.

I hope you find it interesting to see.

Version B is the HaRGB image. The mouse over gives you this image without the animation.
