Description

This is really not lucky imaging in the true sense of the meaning because this image is a stacked composite of 13 images shot with a Takahashi 152 mm refractor and a Nikon Coolpix 5400 camera. It's been 16 years since I took these images but I believe each photo was shot at ISO 200 and 1/60 second duration.

I had a chance to restack the images and used different Photoshop techniques that I didn't try back in 2005. The software has come a long way in 16 years.

Since watching the new lander Perseverance land on Mars, my thoughts went back to the opposition in 2005. Seeing that night (Oct. 28, 2005) was pretty good and I would say something on the order of 6 to 7 out of 10.
