Description

Here is the first part of my first lights with my new Apo. After some problems regarding the distance between the reducer and the CCD i am happy with the telescope. Not only that the resulting focal length is nearly exactly what i wanted (reducing from 600 mm to 451 mm), also my camera is working again (see my previous posts about the 'noise blob').

As one of two objects i could image this evening (with nearly two cloudless hours in the past weeks - yee-ha) i choosed Albireo. Its colors are beautiful and it nests in a wonderful starfield. The image is unguided and lacks exposure time, but its outcome is totally okay for a test shot.

One of the finest things of this Apo is its handling compared to my RC. The shorter focal length make things way easier - the drawback is of course its lesser resolution. If you compare this Albireo to the one i made in the spring with a FL 4 times longer, you can see what i mean. But i bought the Apo for widefields and i am pretty sure i'll have much fun with it :-)
