Description

It doesn’t matter how you pronounce it, it’s beautiful. With its immense clouds of dust and bright blue reflection nebulae - I feel like I could reach out and scoop it up in my fingers. And this is only a small fraction of the whole Rho Ophiuchus cloud complex!

This was taken a few months ago out in Toodyay at the end of the night after capturing Markarian’s chain. It really was a spur-of-the-moment, unplanned shot. The framing is a bit off and I didn’t get as many subs as I would have liked, but it was a clear, still, and moonless night so I had to give it a shot! But we're heading into the cooler, wet weather now so it's good to finally have the chance to take a look at this data.
