Description

Who would have thought we could look out to deep space and into the heart of another super galaxy cluster, with our modest amateur instruments. This image of just 35 galaxies hardly rivals those taken by the HST, where over a 1000 galaxies have been recorded in a single frame.

Made up largely of elliptical and S0 galaxies, there are a few spirals, which adorn this supercluster of up to 10,000 galaxies, lying at around 300 million light years away, and receding at over 15 million mph! [earthsky.org]

I am encouraged with the depth of field recorded by my simple rig, which cost substantially less than the HST, but has to contend with the vagaries of our earth atmosphere (but we wouldn't have it any other way.
