Description

NGC 1512 is a member of the Dorado Group of galaxies, lying about 38,000,000 light-years from Earth. It's a barred spiral galaxy which shows a double ring structure with a nuclear ring around the nucleus and and an inner ring further out into the disk. It also has extended spiral arms that are very faint that extend well beyond the optical disk. It also is interacting with it's companion small dwarf galaxy NGC 1510 located at the 5:00 position.
This data came from Telescope Live's Planewave CDK24/FLI ProLine PL9000 located at El Sauce Observatory, Chile.  Total integration time is 9h 20min LRGB subs @600s.
