Description

I wasn't sure about posting this image - but in the end, even failures teach us something. Sh2-91 is a supernova remnant in the constellation of Cygnus, much older than the famous Veil and also much more faint. After four nights of Ha and OIII, the nebula was as bright ... as the background noise. As if that weren't enough, this nebula is located in an area so full of stars that tone mapping is impossible. So I used a "straight" bicolor technique without applying any luminance, and therefore replaced the stars shootedqith narrow band filters with an RGB shot. Crucial was the use of the script Local Fuzzy Histogram Hyperbolization for the enhancement of the nebula.
