Description

This image features a beautiful night landscape. It was shot during the 12th Brazilian Astrophotography Meeting (“EBA”), using relatively simple equipment. EBA’s site is in Goiás, a state in the Center-West region of Brazil, in which the landscape is referred to as “Cerrado” – which, in a great over-simplification, is Brazil’s equivalent of the African savana. The light pollution on the left side of the horizon is from Brasília, Brazil’s capital city, distant some 100km due South.

As some clouds passed by the beginning of the night, I decided to use the time and try something a bit different than my usual DSO/widefield work: a nightscape panorama. The camera was pointed southwest, and, besides the beautiful tree, the Southern Cross and part of Centaurus approach the western horizon in between the clouds. A beautiful moment that remembers me the great nights and the great people met there =D.

Constructive criticism, comments and suggestions are more than welcome in the comments section.
