Description

The Leo Triplet (AKA M66 Group) is a group of interacting galaxies about 35 million light-years away

NGC 3628 (edge on) displays a line of dust and gas while M65 and M66 are at an angle that allows to observe the spiral arms.

The gravitational interactions is noticeable by the arms of M66 being pulled outwards and by the large stellar formation (blue hue) while NGC 3628 shows an inflated disk. M65 seems to be the least affected by the interaction

The image is cropped from a larger frame due to gradient artifacts introduced by invasive lights from some of the LEDs on the observatory, will correct by using a shield
