Description

Relatively wide-field narrowband image including the Lagoon, Trifid, Sh2-22, and Sh2-26.  6XHydrogen-alpha, 3XOIII, 3XSII.
Sulphur is encoded as red, Hydrogen-alpha as green, and Oxygen III as blue.
Sh2-26, the nebula just down and left of the Trifid (NE) is called an HII region in all the references I can find.  Note the fine structure and red SII features that indicate collisions along shock fronts.  I think Sh2-26 is likely a supernova remnant.  Your thoughts?
Narrowband imagery at a longer focal length of just this object would be interesting.
