IC1318 OSC

pretty much the natural colors captured by my OSC camera, but with the L-e filter. I did increased the saturation and curves. This is one of my favorite parts of the sky this time of year. I'll be capturing more data tonight and maybe try my luck at processing the dual narrow band into the hubble palette.

Description: reduced star luminance. I used a range mask, then starnet++ to isolate the stars, then combined back using Pixmath. what fun this is! the new 27" iMac i9 10 cores is looking more and more attractive to me.

Description: more data last night; less sleep. better star color and less ringing. I thought I was using my L-e filter past 2 nights, but since star color was so good I had to check...and I had the L-pro instead! I'll try the L-e tonight for more nebulosity color.
UPDATE - just went to change filters and I didn't have either installed. These images are with no light pollution in Bortle 6 near LA's light dome! I'm using APP for integration and its tools for removing light pollution and background calibration. Well done APP!

Description: Just for fun...while I'm waiting for APP to process 3 nights worth of subs. Hey its one of my favorite colors! The data from last night using L-enhanced filter with OSC. split the channels in APP then kind-of mapped to hubble with Pixmath. what fun indeed.

Description: used the Ha and Oiii from a OSC using the L-enhanced dual band filter. Nebula color is good, but star color sucks. Wish I could get the star colors from ver C into this narrow band image. Oh, my L-extreme came today. Actually great service from NY Camera Concepts to CA by the USPS via first class mail, 3 days. I'm getting my rig setup tonight even though 95% moon! I think I'll try IC1318 again. There is so much in this region.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
