Description

After a long while I eventually returned to astrophotography, using the autoguide for my very first time.

The Horsehead nebula (B33) is a dark nebula in the Orion constellation.

It is sometimes confused with IC 434, which is actually the emission nebula behind it, red in color, due mainly from ionized hydrogen from the near and bright Sigma Orionis.

Almost dazzling, on the left: Alnitak, the further east Orion belt star.

The Flame nebula stands below the Alnitak star, a large region H II.
