This is a new and quick attempt at the well-known North America Nebula and its friends, but this time with the Astronomik Ha 12nm filter. I spent a couple of hours last Saturday to install my lightweight setup in the backyard and shot this beautiful area in Cygnus. The final result is not suitable for an APOD but I feel very happy the way it turned out regarding the reasonable time I’ve given to achieve this image. I’m also more confortable with a complet processing under PixInsight now. Good bye DSS, thanks for your kind help while starting astrophotography in 2017 ;-)

This rich Ha region is always fantastic to visit, both visually and photographic, with appropriate filter suited on. I never get tired of NGC 7000 and its features! Ha bring out so much detail and perform better contrast. The « Great Wall » is pretty good considering the small aperture of the FS-60, to my humble opinion.

Funny in this night session is that I missed Polaris by at least 10° while setting up all gears and was still fine-tuning my polar alignement with the help of PS Align Pro app and started recording test images …that went amazingly bad ! Gave a look again at the sky and realized my huge mistake :-))) To much red wine at dinner…

Submitted The date and time when you submitted this image for IOTD/TP consideration.	...
Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
