Description

This image combines two sets of mosaics.  One is a four-frame mosaic, made with the GFX and 250mm lens.  The other is an eight-frame mosaic, made with two sets of D800 and RedCat, which also has a focal length of 250mm.

The three systems imaged simultaneously side-by-side on one mount.  So the total time spent for this image is much shorter than what the total integration time suggests. On average, each pixel receives 2.5 hr of exposure from GFX, and 1.4 hr of exposure from D800.

The image is resampled to D800's pixel size, so the final mosaic has a size of 233 mega pixels. The one uploaded here is a 50% reduction. Please enjoy the full size image when you use a computer. The image may overwhelm your mobile device though.

For people's reference, I uploaded images that only contain the modified D800 (Rev.B) or unmodified GFX (Rev.C) mosaics, so you can compare them. The images were calibrated by Registar to have nearly identical color and brightness, and then were processed in Photohops completely identically.

Rev.E is a starless version created by StarNet++.
