Description

It is always heartwarming to see a collimation well done. I am on the path of being more and more confident with quick on-sensor RC scope collimation. Nothing better to test it than a beautiful Lunar surface!

No one will ever know what Freddy really was thinking when singing about the Seven Seas of Rhye... but I like to think, it has something to do with what is on my picture! The five seas Serenitatis, Tranquilitatis, Crisium, Nectaris, Fecunditatis are crammed together and a day before I could have gotten them in one frame. The missing two are just close by: Vaporum and Imbrium, lurking in the shadows behind the mountain ridges.

Especially stunning I find the small mountain pass covered in lava, connecting Mare Serenitatis with Mare Imbrium, just between Caucasus and Apennines. It is moving out of the shadow in the lower left corner of my image.
