Description

This planetary nebula is located 7200 light years away in the constellation of Lyra at a declination of +27 degrees.  This magnitude 15 PN spans 1.3 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a diameter of 2.7 light years.  Its size is larger than most PNe, possibly indicating that it is older.

This object has similar strengths of HII and OIII signal.  I tweaked the color tone based on the calibrated RGB result, which is a faint blue-green color.  The central progenitor star is bright and blue, quite a contrast to the much fainter nebula.
