Description

Rediscovered data from March 2013, now processed. The StarlightXpress M26C seems to have a wide dynamic range, which made capturing the Trapezium possible with no special craft. Four prominent and four smaller stars (not visible here) form the young cluster at the heart of the great nebula of Orion. They’re estimated to be only 300,000 years old, all within 1.5 light-years of each other and they illuminate much of M 42.
