The data for this M82 rendition was acquired between November 15 2020 and January 23 2021.

It's 22.6 hours of data: 4 of L, 9.8 of R, 4 of G, 1 of B and 3.8 of Ha. I am using a homebrew scheduler and it images R at lower altitudes and L at the highest. I've added a frame balancing function so future acquisition should be more evenly distributed between filters.

This was all done from the backyard observatory at an SQM 21.1 / Bortle 4 site.

The frames were calibrated with both APP and SiriL - I have switched to SiriL for calibration because I can script it and run calibration on all my targets with one click. Stacked in APP, post processed in PixInsight and Affinity Photo.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
