Description

Lower's nebula is named for Harold and Charles Lower, the pair who discovered the nebula in 1939. In terms of apparent size it's roughly 2x as large as the full moon, and is located in Orion's club/sword.

Southern sky is not great from my backyard, so I had to chip away at this a few hours at a time. Fortunately it is very high in the southern sky, so cleared my roof and my one problematic pine tree in the southeast. Nice, strong signal from Ha and Sii. But, as is often the case, Oiii was very weak and required much more than the others. C&C always welcome. There is an interesting Oiii bubble/shell around the central star that I tried to bring out.
