Description

The North America Nebula (also known as NGC 7000 and C 20) is an emission nebula visible in the constellation Cygnus, near Deneb (the swan's tail and its brightest star). The shape of the nebula outlines the North American continent, especially the east coast, between the Gulf of Mexico and Florida.  The North America Nebula and the nearby Pelican Nebula (IC 5070) are part of the same vast interstellar cloud of ionized hydrogen
