Description

Abell 39 is a planetary nebula in the constellation of Hercules. Quite intriguing object. The bright rim of the planetary nebula has an average thickness of about 10″.1 or about 0.34 light-years.

Although my focus length of 450 mm is too small to reveal details (there are galaxies in the background of the PN in detailed images availables in the net!) it was a pleasant try for me after forced interruption of astronomical activity for nine months (!). Very glad that I could image it even if the sky was not completely transparent.

Image is about 25% cropped.
