Description

This is a two pane mosaic showing the region between the Pleiades constellation and the California Nebula and its very dusty neighbourhood.
Originally meant to be an 8 pane mosaic incorporating the Flaming Star and Spaghetti Nebulae my imaging session was cut short by unscripted rain forcing an emergency breakdown of my equipment. Even though the skies cleared again for a while later it would have taken too long to set up again.

Each mosaic pane too just 15 minutes to capture.

I used a dual camera arrangement consisting of a CentralDS modified Canon 6D and Samyang 135mm F2 lens at F/2.8 alongside an ASI294MC-Pro with a Sigma 85mm F/1.4 lens at F/2.8.
The images were accumulated in two sessions of Sequence Generator Pro, integrated and pre-processed in AstroPixelProcessor, split into the star mask and starless versions using Starnet++ version 2 via PixInsight, further processing of the starless image in Photoshop & Topaz DeNoise, then reconstructed in Photoshop.
