Description

M106 shot from my backyard. Trying new settings on the ASI 294MC pro. I was unaware that the camera's default offset was 30 with gain 120. I have been using NINA which puts a default of 8 for offset.

This was one of the most fun edits I have done. For the first time I feel I have gotten a truly deep field of a Galaxy and extremely small and distant clumps along with neighboring galaxies (in galactic terms) You can see NGC 4217 quite well.

To process this I stretched my primary image with background they way I liked. Sadly this meant that the saturation and detail in the galaxy wasn't quite where I wanted it to be. So I cloned the image in PI and boosted the saturation considerably.

I then took this to photoshop to reduce the stars, and highlight the detail in M106, NGC4217, and some of the smaller galaxies and clusters surrounding M106. I am truly pleased with the detail I got in this image and hope you enjoy!

Subs are 111x300sec gain 120 offset 30 -10
