Description

This image shows the M96 galaxy (NGC3368) in the constellation of Leo. The quantity of galaxies present in the background makes us perceive all the immensity of these enormous spaces. The very distant edge-on galaxy that can be seen between the nebulas of ionized hydrogen and the clusters of young stars of the outer arm, probably represents the most peculiar feature of M96.
It is an LRGB composition. Data obtained, calibrated and kindly provided by Mike Selby with the CDK1000 telescope from the El Sauce Observatory and processed by me.
