The North America Nebula, NGC 7000

This is 10.5 hours of narrowband data and 1.5 hours of RGB processed as HOS.

About 5 or 6 stars come from the RGB data - it doesn’t matter much in this image. My experience guiding the CEM60ec is growing as I make new and better mistakes. It is very sensitive to being out of balance, and it doesn’t seem to like being weighted to the east very much. The axis clutches need to be adjusted carefully - in the middle part of their range - or you end up with that old sinusoidal pattern of guiding.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
