Description

First picture with a new ASI2400MC-P.

This is Abell 262—a galaxy cluster that is part of the Perseus-Pisces Supercluster. The Perseus-Pisces Supercluster is one of the largest known structures in the universe, spanning more than a billion light years.

Abell 262 is roughly 210 million light years away and contains approximately 200 galaxies. A significant fraction of those are visible in this picture. It's located in the night sky about halfway between the Andromeda and Triangulum galaxies. I'll follow up this picture with an annotated version for curious minds. The field of view of this image is roughly 7 million light years.
