Description

This image took a lot of work. First, I gathered light of 100 plus frames for 4 different nights trying to get the best stack I could with the equipment used. I liked the image scale I was getting with my 50mm Canon f1.8 lens and 6D camera, but ultimately decided its not the best lens for astrophotography. It gets good reviews as a daylight lens, but even at f3.5 I was getting distorted stars in the center. Bummer. But, I like this image with the palm in the foreground, so I tried to find my best stack and move foreword. I tried different lighting on the palm and decided it looked best with some dim lighting added. Here, 50 frames of 45seconds f3.5 ISO 4000 were stacked in Starry Star Stacker out of 169 from this particular evening. Further processed in Luminar Neo.
