Description

The well known M3, a bright (6.2mag) and large globular cluster near Arcturus in constellation Canes venatici. The core in this image is about 700 px, which relates to 6 arc min.

The conditons were nice on July 30th but I had rather bad guiding going on. I assume due to pointing west and bad balancing. The small mount is rather sensitive to balancing.
Furthermore my observation time was limited due to obstractions coming into view. So I could only capture 40 frames each 60sec  at ISO 400 with my Sony Alpha 6000 of which I could then use 34 for the integration. I used my SC 8" with a 0.67 reducer and imaging was at 1477mm FL and 0.54 arcsec/px.
The processing was done in PI with a lot of experimenting and learning regarding noise reduction, histogram and curves transformations.
