Description

For the first time, we observed dwarf planet Ceres. It was near opposition. It is visible in the picture, you can try to find it using the map in the lower right (screenshot from Stellarium).

It is not easy to find asteroids, "star like" objects, between true stars. Comets are easier to find, thanks to their diffuse appearance. Planets are usually seen as small circles. Asteroids are very similar to stars and if you do not know the exact position of an asteroid, you can never be sure if you are looking at star or asteroid.
