Description

WR 134 is a variable Wolf-Rayet star belonging to the constellation of Cygnus, about 5700 al from the Sun. It is an intrinsically very bright star, about 400,000 times brighter than the Sun, and this brightness is not so much due to its surface radiant, but at its very high surface temperature of 63,100 K, typical of Wolf-Rayet stars. Like other stars of its WR 134 class it loses mass at very high rates every year through very fast stellar winds of 1,820 km / s, and precisely these winds generate the nebulosity of ionized oxygen similar to a shell that encloses that small blue star at its center.
