Description

NGC 6823 is an open star cluster around 6,000 light years away in the constellation of Vulpecula. The cluster is around 50 light years in diameter. Towards the outside of the cluster is the emission nebula NGC 6820 with its dark pillars. These are formed as a result of erosion by the radiation from cluster stars.

NGC 6820 was imaged between 15 June and 27 July 2020 from an imaging rig in Spain that is privately owned and remotely operated by Barry Wilson and me.

Capture details are as follows:

Description: I wondered if the original version might be a little lacking in 'sparkle'. One of many questions ... should priests be allowed to marry ... how do you pronounce 'scone'?
