Description

It's a pretty classic target but always good to test something and even a target for times with higher moon phases.
I captured the Orion nebula last year with my stock DSLR. Now with a bit more of experience (I do hope so) and different equipment (dedicated mono camera and filters) I chose to go for M42 again and see how different the result could be.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with what I got. The image is a stew of wavelengths and bandwidths, i.e., it combines SHO narrowband and RGB board band data. I would assume that my image processing is pretty unorthodox but who cares and who knows if nobody is told about it ;-)
