Description

LBN 878 and Barnard 35 are located in the Orion Molecular Cloud complex, specifically in the 'head' of Orion. They are somewhere between 1,000 and 1,400 light years distant. LBN 878 is the red nebula to the western edge (right in this image) of the Barnard 35.

This is a two panel panel mosaic consisting of data collected between 30 September 2019 and 15 February 2020 from a remote imaging rig in Spain that is privately owned and operated by Barry Wilson and me.

Camera: QSI 690

Filters: Astrodon

Mount: 10 Micron GM2000HPS

Ha: 36 x 1200s

Lum: 68 x 600s

Red: 66 x 300s

Green 66 x 300s

Blue: 66 x 300s

A total of 39 hours and 50 minutes exposure.
