Description

Veil nebula widefield An object that us just won't let go is the Veil Nebula. The whole structure is the remnant of a supernova, which is more than 6 full moons in diameter and covers an area of 36 full moons in the northern firmament in the constellation of Cygnus.  The supernova, or the death of a massive star with 20 solar masses, has produced this beautiful nebula complex with its many beautiful filaments. An absolutely fascinating object. The most prominent parts of the nebula are the bone hand NGC 6992, Pickering's triangle NGC 6979 and the storm hawk NGC 6960.
