Description

My name is John Favalessa and I'm an astrophoto addict; it has been 18 days since I last processed an image.  I've had processing paralysis due to comparing my images to those of CDK 14's.  I am seeking help 🤪

OK, M106, a beautiful close neighbor ~24MLYs away. It is a bit bigger than our Milky Way.  Nights are short and trees an issue.  In this I used a 2600MC with Lpro and  dual narrow band filters.   Intergrated using APP, extracted the Ha using APP, processed in Pix.  Loving StarXTerminator and NoiseXTerminator.   Started processing from scratch several times because of my issues.  Next year I plan to use my mono camera and see if I can capture a bit of the star burst coming into the core.

Description: used a tip the Rodd Dryfoos https://www.astrobin.com/users/RAD/ gave me to add contrast to the arms.

Description: Masks and moved the black point. I definitely had trouble with the background, maybe bortle 7 and moonlight issues. I usually don't like dark dark backgrounds but this could be my exception. the next idea would be to start from scratch again 🤪 as looks over processed to me.
