Description

Another clear night last night so I spent some time capturing the Orion Nebula. Located in the belt in the Orion constellation, It's a bright nebula and is visible to the naked eye even though it's 1,344 light years away. I captured this using my telescope, astrophotography camera and a Deep Sky Filter that helps filter out some of the local ight pollution. This picture is the result of combining 60 separate images, each 30 seconds long. It's amazing how much detail you can see once you combine the images together. Since Orion is a Winter constellation I'll try to get more pictures over the next few months to see if I can improve upon this one.
