Description

M81 and M82 in Ursa Major over the past couple of months. There are a little over 34 hours in H-alpha data here alone - easy to get when the moon forbids gathering any other kind of data!

Still learning how to process at this scale. There looked to be a lot more structure in M82 *before* I processed the RGB that I'm trying to learn how not to lose.

I also had smutch on my main objective and flats seemed to have worsened the effect. Clone stamp tool in Pixinsight helped, but a better solution would've been to keep my stuff clean to begin with. Going to try a reprocess using "clean" flats to see if that helps. Also, I've got the "Astro-Tech Iron Cross Stars" thing going on. I think I can maybe fix that...maybe...if I loosen the retaining screws on the objective.
