Description

The Dumbbell Nebula (Messier 27, NGC 6853) is a planetary nebula 1,360 light years away in the constellation of Vulpecula (the Fox). It was first observed by Charles Messier on 12 July 1764.

Messier 27 was photographed between 18 May and 12 July 2020 from a rig in Spain that is privately owned and operated by Barry Wilson and me.

A total of 42 hours and 15 minutes exposure.
