Description

The Antennae - a beautiful pair of interacting galaxies in the constellation Corvus. This is an image processing result from a purchased LRGB dataset of Telescope Live - telescope CHI-1 located at Río Hurtado, Coquimbo Region, Chile. This means I did not schedule the imaging procedure myself.

At first I was surprised about the uneven background, but later found deep exposures taken by fellow astrophotographers. These clearely show Galactic Cirrus (sometimes called IFN) in the field. This is similar to the region of M 87 and Markarian's Chain, where care must be taken not to overdo removal of suspected gradients.
