Description

NGC3079 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation of Ursa Major at a distance of about 50 million light-years away. Also located in this frame is the Twin Quasar, Q0957+561, which from Earth appears gravitationally lensed double-image. The quasar is located about 8.7 billion light-years away.
