Description

Messier 78 / NGC 2071 is a reflection nebula in the constellation Orion. M78 is the brightest diffuse reflection nebula of a group of nebulae that includes NGC 2064, NGC 2067, and NGC 2071. This group belongs to the Orion B molecular cloud complex and is about 1,350 light-years distant from Earth.

I went for super long integration on this to try and avoid all denoise. Any attempt to denoise, either color or luminance channels really seemed to overly soften some of the shadows and textures and smoothed things out. Denoise helped make the very diffuse background dust slightly more visible, but cost the vibrant dark shadowy colors of the dark nebula, so I opted for very soft editing and just letting it speak for itself.

Description: More data and slightly different re-process. Trying to capture as much faint dust, color, and tone as I can while providing some depth and variation. I Hope you enjoy it! Working on ANOTHER revision as I try and figure out which ways I like the most.
