Shot this all in one night; the narrowband component was much too little for doing a narrowband version, but it was enough to tweak/enhance the true color version here just a bit. Mostly adding a little H-ɑ to the red channel, but also punched up the luminosity a bit, particularly in the darker parts of the image to make the dim surrounding nebulosity a little bit brighter. Nothing radical.

This was actually a real beast to process — this is a great visual object, but I'm not sure it's a particularly good photographic one (in true color, anyway). It's just too bright so either you flatten it down and nothing has any contrast, or the center just blows out. I don't know if there's a good way to deal with that, really.

I'm... Not super happy with this, but I don't know that I want to spend a whole bunch more (processing) time on it, either. It seems more promising as a narrowband target, but I didn't have nearly enough narrowband data (yet) to really run with that; maybe in a week or two when I have a chance to get more data, another night's run will get me about triple the narrowband data I have now (but even then I expect processing it to be challenging). It's far enough south that I can't image it for a whole night, anyway.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
