Description

A slightly ambitious attempt at capturing the Iris Nebula (NGC 7023), a bright reflection nebula in Cepheus, using my Red Cat 51 and Nikon DSLR. My imaging targets are somewhat limited at this time of year due to obstructions in the South/South-West and my low focal-range, which led me to imaging this great target. I managed to push the exposure time with iOprtron Skyguider Pro to 3 minutes. My favourite part of similar photos taken of this target are the dust clouds around the nebula itself, which I was pleased to capture, although revealing this dust did bring quite a lot of noise forward from the DSLR sensor. I'm quite happy with the result. Learnt a few new tips and tricks with processing in photoshop. C/C always welcome!
